Please don't bother with the SDP (which is a wasted vote) and re-join the Conservatives. Kemi did at least vote against the bill although i'm disappointed that she says she supports it in principle . I am totally against the bill and it's a long way from becoming law. I believe it will be voted down when it comes back. Join us and we can then bring pressure to bear on the Leadership on this and other issues through the upcoming policy review.
Hey Tim. I understand that point of view. Whether I voted for Cons in a GE would depend on the politics of the individual candidate in my constituency. However my couple of years in the Tories didn't give me confidence I could influence anything towards decent values, and the marriage of soc cons and libertarians is likely unhelpful. It's a dilemma!
I have voted for most parties in the past (except Tories). The Lib/Lab/Con/Green lot have had their day and cannot be trusted on their manifestos. Time to vote for those with our best interests at heart. SDP for me.
A N Wilson describes himself as having returned to the faith. He's not to everyone's liking and is in many respects a bit of a dinosaur (socially, and in his manner, especially his way of speaking). But he is always worth listening to/reading.
Hi Heather. In case you haven't already seen this, here is Ayaan Hirsi Ali on celebrating Christmas as a newish Christian:

The Spectator (current edition) also has a balancing article by A N Wilson on the decline of church going in the West (UK especially)
Hi, yes it is interesting to read her journey in print - not read AN Wilson's yet, who is another convert I believe. There are so many of us...
